One of the nearest, bigger towns is Sibenik, an old Croatian town with a preserved historic centre and many cultural and historic monuments, the most interesting being Saint Jacob's Cathedral, the work of the masters Juraj Dalmatinac and Nikola Firentinac. In Sibenik there is also a theatre dating form the nineteenth century, which is a rare example of a theatre preserved in its original form and it is well known for organizing the famous International Children's Festival. Numerous Festival performances are also given on the Island of Youth in the last week of June and the first week of July. The renaissance Town Hall, castles, city walls, many other valuable and interesting preserved locations along with the architectural details of building facades, stairways, courtyard passages, water wells...

They all form the frame for the picture of the town which is starting and finishing point for all visitors to the discotheques.Vodice, one of the biggest tourist centres in Croatia, can be seen form the shores of Obonjan. The nearby island of Zlarin is even today famous for its coral tradition, so as islet Krapanj for sponges and diving tradition, in Prvic Luka and Sepurine people enjoy in the typical island atmosphere... Finally, boat trips can be organized from the Island of Youth to the Kornati National Park in the west or to the Krka National Park and historic town of Skradin in the northeast.
